Yay! It’s another day in the Minnie Mouse Week series. Fun, fun, fun! This is a crazy simple tutorial for a Minnie Mouse Ribbon Sculpture. I made this cute little clip with my sister and my friend Stephanie during my Minnie Mouse Bowtique Party. Have you seen the post on that party? It was super easy but super cute. Be sure to check it out.
Now let’s talk ribbon sculptures! Ribbon sculptures seem to be the new “it” thing for boutique accessories for babies, along with ruffle rompers and enormous headbands. I have been seeing ribbon sculptures all over Etsy and Pinterest. At the start of the summer I tried my hand at ribbon sculptures with my Sunny Ribbon Sculpture. I was so pleasantly surprised by how quick and simple it was, and Jade has been rocking it all summer long, so I decided to try my hand at ribbon sculptures again, this time with a Minnie Mouse twist.
Here is what you will need to make your own Minnie Mouse Ribbon Sculpture:
* an alligator clip
* 3/8″ wide black ribbon
* 3/8″ wide pink (or red) ribbon
* a hot glue gun and glue
Now let’s get started! Start by covering your alligator clip with black ribbon, as shown in the pictures below. Simply hot glue the ribbon right on to the clip to cover it up and give the accessory a completely finished look and feel.
Next you will be making a series of circles with your ribbon. I simply curled the first loop in my hand until it was the size that I desired and then used a dot of glue to hold it in place. You can cut that piece off or continue looping if you are brave. I just kept looping and dotting until I got the size and number of circles that I wanted. I decided to stop at four loops for the head and two loops for each ear, as shown below.
Once I got all of the looped sections constructed I simply glued them together, as shown below.
Now make your little bow for your mouse head. Bend your ribbon back into a little bow, and then wrap the middle of it, all using hot glue as shown below. Finish by glueing the mouse head to the covered alligator clip.
All done! Easy peasy, right?! And it’s so cute clipped into hair as well!

Very cute. Nice alternative to a traditional bow 🙂
Thanks, Sarah!
