This delicious buffalo chicken dip is a simple recipe that is sure to be a crowd pleaser! Perfect for sports events and entertaining!
I can't believe how quick it was to make this buffalo chicken dip! A MAJOR crowd pleaser!

Good morning!  It’s Sunday, and I know what that means to many people out there (men, at least) during this time of year:  FOOTBALL.  I’ll admit, I’m not a fan.  At ALL.  Although it is sort of exciting that my home team, the Denver Broncos, may go to the Super Bowl this year!  Who knows….maybe I’ll even watch it.  Or not.  We will see.  😉  However, while I am not a professional sports fan in any way shape or form, I am a fan of APPETIZERS and tailgating food!!!  YUMMMM!!!!  And that is why I have teamed up once again with my favorite group of foodie bloggers to bring you 11 amazing Game Day recipes that are sure to please at any football viewing party, including the Buffalo Chicken Dip that I am sharing.

Before I share my recipe for buffalo chicken dip let’s take a look at the amazing goodness that all my blogging buddies have been cooking up for you….literally.  😉

11 PERFECT Big Game appetizers!! YUMMMM!

White Cheese Dip from Lolly Jane
Bourbon BBQ Beef Cups from Sweet C’s Designs
Bacon Cheddar Skillet Fries from Katie’s Cucina
Loaded Nacho Bites from Crazy Little Projects
Sausage Pinwheels from Clean & Scentsible
Eggroll Dip from The Lilypad Cottage
Chili Stuffed Mushrooms from Cook the Story
BBQ Chicken Nachos from It’s Always Autumn
Buffalo Chicken Lettuce Wraps from Ella Claire
Green Chili Artichoke Bread from Yellow Bliss Road

YUMMMMMMMM, am I right?!?!?!?  Alright, now on to my buffalo chicken dip recipe!  This is a recipe that my friend Ann shared with me.  It is SUPER simple.  I couldn’t believe how quickly it came together!  I will walk you through the steps quickly, and then the exact measurements will be below.

Buffalo Chicken Dip-2

Gather your ingredients, including canned (or fresh shredded) chicken, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, and the key ingredient: Frank’s Red Hot Buffalo Wings Sauce.  Use cautiously….it is STRONG!

Buffalo Chicken Dip-3

Dump everything into a bowl together after pulling aside some of the cheese for the top.

Buffalo Chicken Dip-4

Stir it up!

Buffalo Chicken Dip-5

Smooth the mixture into a greased casserole dish and top with the rest of the cheddar cheese.  It is THAT simple!

I can't believe how quick it was to make this buffalo chicken dip! A MAJOR crowd pleaser!

Bake it until it’s bubbly and brown on the edges.

I can't believe how quick it was to make this buffalo chicken dip! A MAJOR crowd pleaser!

Serve it up with crackers or chips!  YUMMMMM!

  2. Mix all other ingredients in a bowl thoroughly.

Never! Ever! use canned chicken for this dip. I posted the “original” recipe on my Pinterest directly from the FRANKS RedHot site which states, shredded cooked chicken. Meaning the real deal. I learned my lesson the hard way, so to speak. Used canned chicken breast chunks from Swanson, not the store brand and it was disgusting. Like dog food. Poor dogs. All I could taste was the tin can. Never again. Even my sis said it would be amazing with real chicken instead. I am removing this recipe from my Pinterest and keeping the FRANKS version.

or you could have used real chicken, removed the pin and kept all of that to yourself. instead you came to her site and chose to be rude. did that make you feel better about yourself?

the dip was delicious! thank you for posting, sarah!

Agreed. I really don’t understand why so many recipes call for canned chicken, the texture is repulsive.

Actually this dip is amazing not baked. It is great cold for tortilla chips or spread it on soft flour tortillas and roll, wrap in Saran Wrap and put in the fridge for two hours then cut into pinwheels.

Hey there! We had a last minute get together for the game (Go Pack Go!) and I was looking for some quick recipes to make to entertain our company! I ended up making this with the left overs from a rotisserie chicken and it was a huge hit! So so so stinking good! I also love that it only made a few dishes 😉 thank you so much for sharing this with us!

How much does this recipe make? I’m trying to make it for a crowd of 65- 80 people, assuming not everyone will eat a lot, but people will probably taste it, and some will definitely have their share. Just don’t want to underestimate!! Thank you!!

If I was making it for that many people I would double or triple it!! That’s assuming you also have other stuff there. 🙂 I think single would feed about a dozen people? Good luck with the huge party!

I just saw the comment about double and tripling this recipe…thank you by the way! But what if I’m making it for 250+? I would mix it and bake it in a large pan that would go in a chaffer. Any suggestions, comments would be appreciated!

Probably just follow the same steps but in a crockpot instead of an oven. The cheese won’t get crispy at all, though. I’m not sure exactly how much it will make . . . quite a few. I’m not a recipe adapting master, sorry. Good luck!
