Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE Halloween. Love, love LOVE! Sparkling pumpkins and smiling witches make me heart sing. They really, really do! That is why I want to kick off my new Spooky Saturdays Series with my Halloween Home Tour today! Every Saturday in September and October there will be a new Halloween-y post from myself or a fabulous blogging buddy.
Let’s kick Spooky Saturdays off with my Halloween Home Tour! I go a bit overboard in October. Ok, WAY overboard. It just brings me joy to walk down my stairs and see a smiling skeleton there waiting to wish me “Good Morning.” (And, by the way, it brings my husband an equal amount of dread. That man hates the holiday decorating process, so each time a piece of Halloween decor sneaks into our home he eyes it like it’s a pack of flea ridden vermin. LOL.)
Let’s start outside and then head through the main floor. As I have mentioned, I am all about HAPPY, cheerful, kiddie Halloween, not creepy and gory. Sooooo not my thing. There are many things in my home that I made, so I will link to tutorials throughout the home tour when appropriate.
Our yard is nothing that will draw people to drive by, but it’s festive and it makes me smile when I drive up, especially those ghosts, which were my sister’s idea.

As you come in you are greeted by my Halloween Plate Wall, a table full of glittering Halloween joy, and some rather jaunty, glittered skeletons.
Let’s head into the formal living room, where I celebrate my ancestors. I have an Ancestor Gallery Wall, which is my favorite thing in the house, and which I will be writing a blog post about soon. Since the ancestor photos are all in the living room, I decided that a Dia De Los Muertos display would be particularly appropriate for that room. (Pom Pom Pillow tutorial here.) The skeleton in the chair was made by my mom. His name is Mr. Bones. We have pictures of me sitting next to him proudly in my Halloween costume when I am about 5 years old. I love that he is still around and that now I have pictures of MY kids next to him!
On to the formal dining room, which, to be honest, is usually my dumping ground for half finished projects. 😉

Let’s head down the hall into the main living area, shall we?

Lastly, even the bathroom gets a festive touch. I LOVE this Pottery Barn Kids countdown that we have. Worth EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. Love, love, love it!!

There you have it . . . our Halloween home! Do you decorate for Halloween? Are you into cheery, glittery stuff like I am, or do you have the creepiest house on the block?
Be sure to check back every Saturday from now through Halloween for SPOOKY SATURDAYS!

It’s been a CRAZY summer…We sold our house in one day (which we didn’t anticipated) at the beginning of May so we had to find a house quickly all the while my youngest daughter graduated from High School and took her on a graduation trip to NYC (so super fun). Oh, did I mention I was taking college classes all summer while packing up and moving? I moved my youngest into her dorms three weeks ago which was so hard for me (she lives 5 1/2 hours away..ugh!). I’m taking my last class now and will graduate in October…yay. I want to you know that I always read your posts, but not any extra time post. Glad to have time to respond especially now that the house is completely quiet…lol!!

WOW! Thank you for letting me know I’m not alone in my obsession. And thank you for showing me how to upgrade from some of the less nice items we have.
I hope you’ll help me out with suggestions for our Christmas bash we’re planning (mostly Nightmare before Christmas)
