Halloween Washi Tape Frames

I love this Halloween washi!! These frames are so cute but look so simple to make!

Hello, spooky friends!  I am in full blown Halloween OBSESSION mode.  Last week I was pounding out project after project after project, and today I am going to share with you one of the simplest ones: Halloween Washi Tape Frames!  I was incredibly pumped to find Halloween washi at my local JoAnn’s Fabrics in the dollar bin section.  I may or may not have bought every single roll that they had left.  Literally…..  I have problems.  But lucky YOU!  You could WIN SEVEN ROLLS OF THEM in my Halloween Favorite Things Giveaway!  But it ends TONIGHT, so HURRY!!!!

Now let’s talk washi frames.  SO simple!  Start with a simple wooden frame.  You can find them at any craft store, but my secret is the $1 ones from Walmart.  So much cheaper!  I always paint my frames white because I think the washi patterns and prints look more clear and crisp with a clean white background behind them.

Now just start messing with your washi tape!  Leave ends hanging off, as shown in the picture, and worry about them later.  Washi tape is a lot like masking tape, so it can be adjusted and rearranged very easily.  If it starts to lose its stick because you mess with it so much you can always use a glue stick to secure it in place.  I will admit to doing that in several places on the purple and green frame!

Once you have covered your frame completely with washi tape you can use scissors to trim the ends to be flush with the frame.  I always add a layer of decoupage (Mod Podge) at this point to seal everything permanently into place.

Stick in your pictures and you are done!  Aren’t these pics of my boy from Halloweens past just darling?!  He is the cutest.  STOP GROWING UP, BABY BIG BOY!!!!

Very cute and easy. Thanks for the heads up re: $1 washi tape and wooden frames.
