A Disney Junior Birthday Party staring Sophia the First, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Doc McStuffins, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Loads of fun, easy, ideas for a party that is sure to delight your preschooler!
I received free products in order to host a Disney Kids Preschool Playdate. The opinions expressed here are my own.}
I am so excited to share my little girl’s 4th birthday party with you today! I was thrilled to be chosen to host a Disney Kids Preschool Playdate, and when I got the box of supplies and swag I knew just what I wanted to do: take our Preschool Playdate to the next level and make it a full blown Disney Junior birthday party! We have taken our kids to Disneyland twice, and those trips were truly some of our family’s highlights of their young lives thus far. So many happy memories. Someday we will make the longer trek to Florida to visit Walt Disney World as well. My parents took us to WDW several times when I was growing up, and it was beyond magical. I’m just obsessed with all things Disney, let’s face it!
My Disney love has definitely rubbed off onto my children. This is NOT our first Disney party! (See: Disney Adventure Party, Bippity Boppity Boutique Birthday Party, Minnie Mouse Bowtique Dream Party, Minnie Mouse 1st Birthday Party) Once I saw the adorable Disney Junior supplies and ideas in our box of goodies I knew a Disney Junior themed birthday party would be perfect for my little lady. She is growing up way too quickly, so I need to embrace her love of all things “Junior” while I can!
We couldn’t decide on just one Disney Junior show for a theme, so we narrowed it down to four favorites: Sophia the First, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Doc McStuffins, and, of course, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She is also obsessed with Octonauts, Sherrie Callie, and The Lion Guard, but there are only so many games a mother can come up with for a single party! 😉
Disney Junior Birthday Party Decor
Since Mickey Mouse is the one who started it all, we embraced Mickey Mouse Clubhouse as the main decor, along with a game during the party. The tablecloth, plates, napkins, and dangling streamers all came in our box of goodies, but I have seen them at party supply stores if you want to grab any for your own party or themed preschool playdate. I made the Mouse Ear garlands with my Cricut, I made the cake topper by hand from cardstock, and I bought the customized juice box wrappers on Etsy HERE. (The night before since I am a crazy procrastinator. Super fast service from the seller!)
Disney Junior Birthday Party Activities
At all of my kid parties I try to start with an activity sitting at the table that they can do so that they are all in one place and relatively calm as other kids trickle in late. This time we made paper bag puppets. The girls chose to make Sofia the First puppets, and the boy (her brother and cousin) chose to make Jake and the Neverland Pirate puppets. The sparkly Tulip puffy paint was a big hit. The kids got over excited and squeezed it on in blobs that may take ten weeks to dry. Haha.
Once puppets were made and everyone had arrived we broke into two groups for stations. I love stations for birthday parties. The more kids there are the more stations I plan. It is nice to have smaller groups for the games. Everyone gets more turns and things feel so much more manageable. The first station was Pin the Smile on Minnie Mouse. The girls refused to wear the blindfolds, so we just had them close their eyes.
Disney Junior Birthday Party Doc McStuffins
The second station was the biggest hit of anything we did at the party: a Doc McStuffins Stuffed Animal Hospital! The kids LOVED using our doctor toys and these adorable printables (which I found free to print on the Disney Junior website HERE.) Their absolute favorite thing was putting real band-aids on the stuffed animals. HOWEVER….a word to the wise: TAKE THEM OFF OF THE ANIMALS FAIRLY QUICKLY!! I made the mistake of letting them sit on their all day before trying to take them off, and some of them wouldn’t budge. I soaked the ones that wouldn’t budge in the sink and they eventually came off, but it was a hassle. Either use fake band-aids or just remove them in a timely manner.
Disney Junior Birthday Party Jake And The Neverland Pirates
After the stations, it was time for a Jake and the Neverland Pirates treasure hunt! Luckily, the weather was lovely that day, so we got to get outside and run out some of those little wiggles. My sister made this map from a brown paper bag (and had way too much fun burning the edges, by the way), and we gave the kids eye patches that I found at a party supply store.
They followed the map around the yard until they discovered a pirate satchel in a tree (tutorial for that HERE) that was full of double sided paper crowns – Sofia the First on one side and Jake and the Neverland Pirates on the other side. This was a big hit, especially with Big Brother, as I’m sure you can tell.
Next it was chow time! Of course, we served hot diggity (mini corn) dogs, along with an ice cream cake (Walmart for the win!) and Minnie Mouse cookies. I made the Minnie Mouse cookies by pushing two mini oreos into a regular oreo and attaching a candy bow (found in the cake decorating section) on top with frosting. Easy peasy.
I love the happiness on this little gal’s face. She had a special request that her Bapa (my dad) be there, so even though it was a random Tuesday afternoon he took the day off to be there. Sweetest.
Disney Junior Birthday Party Sophia The First
The last fun thing that we did was a Sofia the First Princess Photo Booth. I grabbed this kids a few at a time during cake eating time and took silly pictures of them. I used HP Photo Booth Strips and the free Pocketbooth App to take them. IT WAS SO FUN!!! The HP Photo Booth Strips may just be my favorite thing that was in that book of goodies to use for this party. I also took a bunch of myself making silly faces and of selfies with my one year old niece. Too fun! We took this ADORABLE (and sturdy!!) Sofia the First American Tourister suitcase and stuffed it with princess dress ups from around the house for the photo booth. It was a hit, and the kids got to take a strip or two of photos home as part of their party favors!
Disney Junior Birthday Party Favors
When we sent off our happy, worn out little preschool playmates we gave them a Disney Junior knapsack, their photo strips, crowns, eye patches, and puppets from the party, and a few other goodies: The Lion Guard animals and temporary tattoos, Disney Junior stickers, and a Minnie Mouse bow.
Whew! I’m tired just reliving it! Thanks again to Walt Disney World and MomSelect for the opportunity to host this Disney Kids Preschool Playdate. It turned into a birthday party that will not be soon forgotten!
