Hi! Carisa here… I’m back and with some really fun activities for Thanksgiving. I’ve gathered some great turkey activities for kids! It’s Thanksgiving time and kids love to learn and do activities associated with the holidays.

Turkey activities, snacks, lessons and more for kids.

Mini Lessons for Turkeys

Talk about the turkey! It’s not an animal that you see a lot of or get really excited about, but there are tons of cool facts about turkeys! You can teach kids the sound that turkeys make and have a gobbling contest.

A really neat sensory activity would be to gather a bunch of feathers and let kids explore and play with them.

Along with making all kinds of turkey crafts, adding in a little lesson about gratitude is a great way to get kids really thinking about Thanksgiving! There are so many different turkey crafts that find a way to incorporate the things you are grateful for!

Turkey Books

There are so many funny and interactive stories about turkeys that lend themselves to fun activities.

Turkey Books

If you were a turkey, how would you disguise yourself? Turkey Trouble is a book all about a turkey who knows that Thanksgiving comes and that he better disguise himself or he might end up on the dinner table. The disguises he comes up with are funny and exciting for kids of all ages. The book lends itself to a fun and creative art activity where the kids can create a disguise for their turkey.

A fun and simple rhyming book that tells the story of the first Thanksgiving. T is for Turkey: A True Thanksgiving Story is a fun way to share a little history behind Thanksgiving.

Are you trying to get your kids to count and recognize numbers? 10 Fat Turkeys is a hilarious book about some silly turkeys that do ridiculous things… It’s a rhyming story as well and helps kids learn to count backwards.

I’m A Turkey! Is a funny book narrated by Tom the Turkey. He tells facts about his turkey family in a fun and engaging way for kids!

Turkey Activities

I love activities that get kids excited about the holidays but also teach kids… These activities will engage and excite and kids won’t even know they are learning valuable skills.

Fine Motor Turkey Activities

I personally love this craft activity. Thanksgiving Turkey Craft for Kids uses beads and helps kids practice their fine motor skills as they place the beads on the turkey!

Paper Punch Color Match Turkey is a great way to get kids actively matching colors as they make their turkey. You could expand this and with different shape punches and have children practicing matching shapes as well!

I love science… It is so cool to see kids eyes light up as they experience something new, exciting and sometimes unexplainable… Turkey Balloon Rockets are such a fun way to get turkeys to fly!

Turkey Art

This is just a very small sampling of the huge amount of turkey artwork out there…

Turkey Art

This Bubble Wrap Painted Turkey exposes kids to some new textures as they paint their turkey feathers.

Lollipop Turkeys are fun and easy to make and great to give away as gifts. Kids can make little thank you lollipops for their friends and have some ownership in giving gratitude!

I can’t believe how adorable this Washi Tape Turkey is! You have to check out how to make this little turkey art project!

Turkey Snacks

What kid doesn’t love a little food art? I love that there are both healthy snack options and adorable treats as well!

Turkey Snacks

If you want to make some cute chocolate treats, there are plenty of options out there… Here are three that I loved: Turkey Oreo Ball Place Holder, Reese’s & Oreo Turkey Treat and Turkey Pretzels.

On the other hand, if you are wanting to make a little healthier snack there are still plenty of options. These Cheese Turkey Snacks are super cute and clever.

A special Turkey and Cheese Sandwich would be great for a kids lunch… I love how the apples are cut fancy-schmancy, too!

Try this Turkey Veggie Platter to get kids more interested in eating their veggies! I thought this snack idea was absolutely genius and I’m definitely trying it out on my kiddos! Any time they can dip something, they are much more likely to try it!

Thanks for reading and hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I’d love for you to stop by Messes to Memories and check out what’s new!!
