Sunday Spotlight: White House Black Shutters

Today I am introducing you to one of my favorite new blogging friends, Ann Marie from White House Black Shutters.  I love this girl.  I “knew” her online, but then at SNAP she was not only my roomie, but she actually had to share a bed with me, so we got to be buddies very quickly.  She is just way too darling.  It is hard to describe her.  She is mild-mannered and sweet and gentle, and yet she is sassy and spunky and surprising.  I’m not sure how I should describe her, but I am sure of one thing: I fell in love with her almost instantly.  After sitting next to her in my very first class at SNAP I sent Courtney (Sweet C’s) a text that read, “Ok, it’s official.  I love Ann Marie.”  Her response?  “I KNOW, right?!”  Right!!  She is amazing.  And, luckily for all of us, she is also amazingly talented and shares that talent on her wonderful blog.  Would you like to meet her?  I bet you would!!
Sunday Spotlight on White House Black Shutters Ann Marie is a mama of three—soon-to-be four!—kiddos ages 4 and under.  Wow.  Just….wow.  And yet she manages to bring top-notch content to her blog each week.  She may just rule the world someday.  Read more about her on her About Me page.

Ann Marie’s blog is rather random, which I absolutely love.  Everything from recipes to lists of ways to cheer up if you are having a bad day to loads of DIY home makeover projects.  It’s all there!  Let’s start with what I would consider her specialty, which is DIY home makeovers and decor.  (I didn’t mean to grab the photos with writing over them, but that is what happened.  Hit her blog for the full effect of the awesome photos.)
Sunday Spotlight on White House Black Shutters Here is the link to Ann Marie’s Home Tour.  I love the Clipboard Wall in her family room.  The mint end table in her Sunny Bedroom Update is killing me with cuteness!  She found 75 year old floor boards in her basement and used them to create this fabulous Floor Board Breakfast Bar when she was chosen as a contestant in the contest Creating with the Stars, which is a VERY big deal, by the way!  She also worked with Layzboy to turn her living room into her Mom Cave for a magazine spread.  Amazing, right?!
Sunday Spotlight on White House Black Shutters Here are a few of Ann Marie’s recipes that I am looking forward to trying: Cheesy Jalapeno Mashed Potatoes, Grilled Summertime Pizza, and Sneaky Carrot Mac & Cheese.  Yum!!
Sunday Spotlight on White House Black Shutters Here are a few of my favorite project posts from Ann Marie:  Hello Welcome Mat (complete with a Seinfeld reference in the post—she and I share a deep and abiding love for all things Seinfeld), Homemade Cleansing Wipes, and her Everyday I’m Hustlin’ Sharpie Mug.  (See….random!  And surprising!  And funny!)

One of the things that Ann Marie is known for is her unique 40 Bags in 40 Days series, which is a simple program that she does each year along with her readers to help organize and de-clutter their homes in a manageable way.  Very cool.
Sunday Spotlight on White House Black Shutters And guess what??  This summer she is doing a mini version of that right now!  Be sure to check out her Summer Simplify Decluttering Series!!  A young mom who has that many little ones so close in age and can still find time to blog??  You KNOW she has some organizational tips and tricks up her sleeve, so come check them out!
Sunday Spotlight on White House Black Shutters Now aren’t you glad you have “met” Ann Marie?  You should be!!  If you want to get to know her better then be sure to keep up with her on any and/or all of her social media channels!  Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, G+

Thanks for visiting today and checking out today’s Sunday Spotlight!  I hope you will be back throughout the week to check out my new projects and recipes, and I hope you are enjoy my S’mores Saturdays series that is running every Saturday through the summer!  Don’t forget to enter to win an AMAZING prize package valued at over $500 on my Summer Progressive Dinner post!

You are so awesome. Saying thank you sounds silly when I feel like you just wrote the perfect biography of me and my blog. But then again saying this is a great post sounds like I’m bragging, LOL. Thank you so so much, Sarah! This made my day. 🙂

And I miss you. It sucks when you meet someone that you know you’d want to hang out with and then realize they are on the other side of the country!!
