This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Duck Brand provided by ShurTech Brands, LLC for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Duck Tape Pumpkins-16  I am sure it will come as no surprise to my readers that when I found out that I had received the challenge to create a fabulous no-carve Stick or Treat duck tape pumpkins using the new Halloween tapes from Duck Tape® I was THRILLED!  I love everything Halloween, and I love kid-friendly projects!  I tend to get so busy and wrapped up in life that I forget to sit down and truly engage with my four year old son, so I love to have opportunities like this pop up every once in a while to remind me to carve out some time to craft and make memories with him.

These Duck Tape® pumpkins were the perfect thing for us to do together one after last week while Baby Sister was napping! My boy LOVES TAPE.  Truly.  It’s bizzare.  Need proof?  Check out this Instagram picture.  We have his tape “art” all over the house hanging in random spots.  It makes me smile.  So, as you can imagine, when I came into the house with a stack of Halloween tapes and told him that YES, he COULD use them to make art he was pretty pumped out of his mind!  However, he has a mind of his own, and he wanted to create a family of pumpkins on his own with no creative interference.  Luckily, I know him well and foresaw this complication, so I bought one extra pumpkin to use for my own creation.  And that is why I have TWO ideas for you today!  Fun!!  It’s a two-for-one post!

Let’s start with the more “advanced” project.  And I am using the word “advanced” very, very loosely.  😉 How to Make a Duck Tape Frankenstein Pumpkin

Are you ready to learn how to make a little Frankenstein Pumpkin?  Isn’t he cute?!  (I think technically he is a Frankenstein’s Monster Pumpkin, but let’s not get technical, mmmkay?) For this project you will need a faux pumpkin, scissors, and neon green and black rolls of Duck Tape®. Duck Tape Pumpkins-2 Begin by covering the majority of your pumpkin with the neon green Duck Tape®. Duck Tape Pumpkins-5 Now make your monster’s “hair” by using the black tape to create a jagged hairline. Duck Tape Pumpkins-6 Once that is done it is already time to work on the “bolts.”  Fold a piece of tape over and over on itself and then cut it in half. Duck Tape Pumpkins-7 Take small pieces of the black tape and place them on the ends like the bolts, as shown above. Duck Tape Pumpkins-8 Now use thing slivers of the black tape to attach the “bolts” to the main pumpkin “head.” Duck Tape Pumpkins-9 Looking good!  Now let’s add a face! Duck Tape Pumpkins-10 Use two small rectangles of tape for the eyes and multiple rectangles to create a jagged mouth, as shown above. Duck Tape Pumpkins-11 Ta-Da!  How simple was that?!  Fun for grown ups, but I also think it would be a perfect activity for teens and tweens! Duck Tape Pumpkins-12 I like him.  🙂 Now on to the idea that is perfect for little ones!  This would be a perfect family night activity: creating an abstract family of pumpkins! Creating a Duck Tape Pumpkin Family
To prepare for crafting a family of Duck Tape® pumpkins with your child you will need the appropriate amount of faux pumpkins to represent your family, a variety of the fun Halloween patterned Duck Tape® rolls, and scissors.  That’s it!  I LOVE the Halloween patterned rolls!  I actually used them in another project that will be up later this week: Glow in the Dark Trick or Treat Bags! Duck Tape Pumpkins-1 Now just let your child have at it!  The scissors did get really sticky, so I ended up helping him tear pieces off and then used Goo Gone to clean the stickiness off of the scissors afterward.  There is no need to direct or interfere.  This is a project that truly can not be messed up.  Let them play and imagine and have fun! Duck Tape Pumpkins-4 Duck Tape Pumpkins-3
All done!  He is so proud.  He asked permission to go on the front porch to look at them about five times that evening.  I love him. Duck Tape Pumpkins-14 What do you think?  Are you likely to try either of these projects?  How about your own Duck Tape® pumpkin idea?  I hope so, because the Duck Tape® brand is running an amazing Stick or Treat Contest right now!  All you have to do to enter is submit an image of a Halloween pumpkin (real or fake) decorated with Duck Tape® anytime between now and Halloween!  The winners will be announced on November 11th.  The first place prize is $1000 and a Cricut Mini® Personal Electronic Cutter, the second place prize is $500, and the third place prize is $300!  Score!  If you decide to enter I want to see your entries, so be sure to leave a comment on this post linking me to your finished pumpkin! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
