This gratitude tree scavenger hunt is a perfect way to get children engaged with the thankful spirit of Thanksgiving this holiday season!
Happy Thanksgiving Week! Last week I was browsing my blog archives when I came across the photos for this gratitude tree post in a draft, but I realized that I had never actually written the post all those years ago. I figure it’s better late than never, right?! So here is what I can remember of our family’s Gratitude Tree Scavenger Hunt. I like this idea so much that I am going to do it with my nieces and nephews this year on Thanksgiving!
It all starts with a tree. I drew the outline for this very fine gratitude tree and my son colored it in. Then we glued a few blank leaves on the tree to get it started with some color.
Next we cut many leaves and wrote what we were grateful for on the leaves. After that I hid the leaves all over the house for the kids to find. You could also switch the order on that and hide the blank leaves and have them fill them in when they are found. I think that’s what I’ll do with my nieces and nephews.
Happy leaf hunters. 🙂 Read each leaf aloud as you attach it to the gratitude tree.
Voila! Wasn’t that a fun, simple idea for a Thanksgiving actvitity? Perfect for Family Home Evening (family night), the actual day-of Thanksgiving, or anytime during the month of November!
If you love this idea then you are sure to love these other ideas for getting kids involved in gratitude-focused activities!

This is such a great activity for kids and will also keep them engaged during the holidays. I am hosting a Christmas party this season for friends and family and been thinking about kids fun activities . I am glad that I have found one.
