Chocolate Banana Swirl Bread

I can’t wait to share this Chocolate Banana Swirl Bread recipe with you today!  A friend gave this recipe to me almost a decade ago, and I just LOVE it.  I believe it was originally from Cooking Light, but I have tweaked it over the years to make it a bit fattier and even more tasty!  Heehee.  😉

The recipe is a very straightforward process, other than the chocolate swirl step.  In a nutshell, you melt the chocolate, mix it with 1 cup of the batter, and then spoon it into the greased bread pan and swirl, as shown below.

You can find the full recipe for this chocolate banana swirl bread below, and you can even print it!  ENJOY!!

Chocolate Banana Swirl Bread

Rating  5.0 from 2 reviews

Ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 3 - 4 mashed bananas (about 1½ cups)
  • 2 eggs
  • ⅓ cup vanilla Greek yogurt
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Beat sugar and softened butter until combined and fluffy.
  3. Add mashed bananas, eggs, and yogurt and beat until combined.
  4. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Combine until just moist.
  5. Melt the chocolate chips in a bowl until just melted, about 1 minute. Stir together and then let cool slightly.
  6. Add 1 cup of the batter to the chocolate and stir until combined.
  7. In a greased bread pan, spoon the chocolate batter and the plain batter together one spoonful at a time, alternating the flavors. Swirl together with a knife.
  8. Bake for about 1 hour and 15 minutes (until a wooden toothpick comes out clean).
  9. Cool and enjoy!

        Nope. Regular, all-purpose flour!
