Cake Stands Galore Thrifty DIY

One of my best friends is most definitely who I think of when I think of a “Hostess with the Mostess.”  Whether she is throwing a baby shower, organizing an event for the women’s organization at our church, or simply having a playdate, she always has the most delicious array of food, all displayed on a fabulous table.  I first noticed this style of homemade platter at her home.  She collects crystal and/or glass platters and candlesticks and hot glues them together to create platters in a variety of heights and sizes when she is preparing for an event.  Her approach works for easy storage because she simply pulls them apart and peels off the hot glue when she is done.  However, when I saw this picture on A Bubbly Life I swooned, because I love, love, love the colors, especially the turquoise!  I adore this idea of collecting odds and ends and attaching them prior to spray painting them.  It is a perfect way to create the EXACT color or style of platter that you need for any event that you may be hosting.  So if you want to be “The Hostess with the Mostess” at your next event, check out this simple, thrifty tutorial!
