Hairstyles for girls can be a fun way to get ready for Back to School. Here are 17 fun and simple ways to style girls hair for Back to School season.
My mom always stunk at doing hair, but my Granny did amazing French braids, and we lived with her for quite some time when my mom had breast cancer the first time around, so sometimes I got to wear Granny’s pigtail French braids to school. Girls used to sit behind me and stroke those braids because they were so perfect. True story! Eventually, my mom took me to a French braiding class. My thick mane and I were there for her, to practice on. She came home crazy frustrated, and I walked into the bathroom at age 9, reached behind me, and did with my own hair what I had just watched the teacher doing during the class. She was flabbergasted. But, hey, she was off the hook! I was the official braid technician for the hair of all little women in our home forevermore.
I am going to assume that you are like my mom and canNOT French braid. Because even some of these “quick and easy” hairdos would not have been quick OR easy for my mom. However, I did include basic tutorials for French braiding and Dutch braiding at the bottom.
If you master either one of those you will have a whole new world of hairstyles for girls open up to you! And if you can’t braid AT ALL — look it up on YouTube. Even my mom mastered the basic braid. I have faith in you! 😉
On to the cute hairstyles for girls! I wish my daughter’s wispy toddler hair would thicken up! I’m all inspired to try these now! Naturally, her brother got my thick, textured hair. Sheesh. Let’s all hope hers fills in as she ages!
