A dream at-home Wild Kratts birthday party for PBS Kids fans! Wild Kratts games, food, and decor ideas that everyone will love!
Wild, wild, wild KRATTS!!!! Time to check out my son’s Wild Kratts Birthday Party!
Who knows Wild Kratts? Anyone? It is a show on PBS Kids, and it ROCKS! It is fun, it is educational, and, most importantly, it is NOT ANNOYING. (Yes, I did just rank that over educational. Haha!) Seriously though, my kids love this show, and my son knows the most amazing, random facts about animals thanks to this show. Check it out, you won’t be sorry!
I tend to go a wee bit overboard for birthday parties. (Did you see my daughter’s Disney Princess Bippity Boppity Boutique Birthday Party that I posted last week?) My parties are not professionally-coordinated-by-a-team-and-belong-in-a-magazine awesome by any means, but I love to spoil my kids, and I also love to throw creative parties for them because my mom always did that for us. She threw Pinterest-y parties before Pinterest even existed! She was the real creative queen in our family. I miss her.
Anyway, I actually did have a team working with me on this party . . . my sisters, husband, and dad. Happy little 1 am helpers who think I’m insane. Haha. They are probably right . . . Thanks to their cutting of gazillions of “Creature Power Discs” the party was a roaring success! Let’s check out the décor.
I found these sheets of small Creature Power Discs HERE. I just used them to create a pennant banner like I did in THIS tutorial. I also used them as cupcake toppers
The large Creature Power Discs for the table’s banner came straight from PBS Kids. You can find them HERE. And, yes, those are real branches that I frantically cut off of a bush in our yard at the last second. I have problems . . . 😉
Wild Kratts Birthday Party Food Table
You can find a tutorial for how to make my super professional Tortuga Cake HERE. (I kidding about the professional part . . . obviously!). 😉 We also threw together grape kabob caterpillars and froze plastic bugs into ice cubes. That was a HUGE hit with the kiddos!
More Ideas For Your Wild Kratts Birthday Party
I decided to go all out and make the kids each Creature Power Suits vests. I used the no-sew Creature Power Suits tutorial from Mom Endeavors that you can find HERE. It didn’t take as long as I thought it would, but, then again, I had a team of mostly-cheerful helpers. 😉 The creature power discs were printed HERE (same as the banner). We laminated them and hot glued some Velcro onto the back of each of them. Each kid got one during the party and then took home a bag of four more. Cute gift bag tags found on PBS Kids HERE.
As the kids arrived each one got a Creature Power Suit Vest and then we watched the show for about 15 minutes while everyone trickled into the party so that the kids who hadn’t seen it would be familiar with it.
Even the tiniest attendees got outfits! Aunt Sarah has problems. 😉
Time for games! We did stations so that we could split up the large group.
At one of the stations we used the small disc printables (HERE) for a game where the kids guessed the animals using clues. Basically, one kid grabbed a disc and without looking at it held it up to their forehead. The other kids gave clues about the animal and the kid holding the disc had to guess which animal they were holding. After each kid had a turn my sister turned them loose and they all played at once.
Another station was animal musical chairs. I can’t claim this idea. You can find it HERE. Super fun!
Of course we had a face painting station!
Last but not least, an animal races station! Get out those wiggles!
Time to eat! What a fun party!

What an awesome party Sarah! Everything turned out so cute and all the kids look adorable in their creature power suits. Wild Kratts is one of the few kids shows that my husband and I can stand to watch with our kids. I think it’s the five minutes at the end of the episode where they show the actual animals that redeem it for me. Hope your son had a wonderful birthday it sure looks like he did!

I too love to throw big, but not magazine big, parties for my kids. Sometimes I think it’s more fun for me to plan it then the actual party :). We just finished our own Carnival Party for my son, but I think I’m going to remember this for next year. He too LOVES Wild Kratts! Thanks for sharing your ideas!

Aww! My kids love Wild Kratts! Did you know that the brothers had other shows first? There was Zooboomafoo and then Kratt’s Creatures and now Wild Kratts! My daughter would have loved this for a party. Maybe I should do it for her 21st birthday!

Awesome party ideas!! I tend to go overboard on my kids birthdays, too–but I LOVE it 🙂 and so do they. The link to the little discs does not work anymore. Do you still happen to have them and would you be willing to email them to me?? I am having a Wild Kratts party for my son in April.
Thank you for the great ideas!

I don’t, sorry!!

I love all your ideas and decorations. I would love to be able to access and print the smaller creature power discs for the banner and cupcakes. It says I need to be granted access. Are you willing to share with a mom of 3 who has none of the creative power that you do? THanks so much! 🙂

I’m so sorry, but it’s not my blog that’s blocking you. It’s another blogger. They were available last year when I used them, but seem to be unavailable now. Maybe she got freaked out by so many people visiting her family blog after seeing this post. :/

Thank you so much for your quick response! I truly appreciate it! :)Tara

I love these wonderful party ideas. I am planning my son’s wild kratts party and would love to do the cupcake toppers. I can’t access them where you linked them. Is there any chance you can send them to me through email? Also, did you print them on cardstock?
Thanks so much for the help!

It looks like the blogger made her site private. SORRY! I don’t have them anymore. But yes, I did print them on cardstock. Good luck with your party!
