Good morning, Halloween fans! Today for Spooky Saturday I am going to teach you how to make a Bubblegum Halloween Necklace that is simple enough to make that even a toddler can help you! True story. 🙂
Anyone who knows me knows that I ***looooove*** October and Halloween. Love love love! I am not into spooky or gory, and I don’t visit haunted houses, but smiling pumpkins, changing leaf colors, and kids in costumes make my heart sing! That is why I love making jewelry and accessories for my little girl to go with Halloween skirts, t-shirts, etc. (Some homemade, some found at places like good old Target.)
Want to learn how to make this Halloween necklace? Well then let’s do this thing!
To make this necklace you will need the following items (I received these beads free from FizzyPops.com. Use the coupon code BLING10 at checkout for 10% off! There are a few affiliate links below. That means it costs the same amount for you but I get a tiny cut for referring you to the product.):
- Orange (or orange and black, etc) Gumball Beads, 20mm (10 pack) – I USED TWO PACKS
- Large Clasp (This one is from Hobby Lobby. Their jewelry supplies go on sale every other week – FYI.)
- jewelry beading wire (affiliate link)
- crimp beads (affiliate link)
- flat nosed pliers
- crimp nosed pliers
- wire snips
Simply lay out your beads and then start stringing your Halloween necklace! It is simple enough that my toddler did the stringing herself. So fun to do it together!
String the end of your beading wire through a crimp tube, through the clasp, and back through the crimp tube. (This part an adult should probably do.) Pull the wire tight enough to close most of the excess wire space. Use your crimping pliers to crimp the tube. First squeeze it with the dented section of the pliers, as shown. Then crimp it shut by squeezing it shut in the other direction using the smooth section of the pliers. Repeat on the other side, and snip off the excess wire with the wire snips.
Now throw on your festive Halloween necklace and enjoy!
Obviously, you can mix up the colors any way you would like. This simple tutorial works with any beads you would like, so have fun with it!

How did you get your holes in the gumballs?
Sarah Westover McKenna says
They are actually gumball BEADS that I got at http://www.fizzypops.com. I’m sorry — I worded that in a confusing way! I added “beads” to the title so hopefully it’s less confusing now.

Those are adorable! You could even use a black marker and make little faces on them – I love it! 🙂 Thank you for sharing with us at the #HomeMattersParty
