Last week I decided that my daughter needed a fabulous Thanksgiving headband, so, naturally, I turned to Etsy for ideas. I was able to find a bow like the one shown above at a very reasonable price, so I decided to just take the plunge and buy it. Yes, I could have made it, but I would have had to haul my kids to the craft store first to buy all of the ribbon colors that I needed, and that just wasn’t worth my time. So I ordered it, and she wore it to church on Sunday. I couldn’t believe the response! People went crazy for that turkey bow! And I had to keep saying, “No, actually, I bought it….” That is no fun, people. So here is my tip to you: if you are capable of making something insanely cute for your child that strangers will be stopping you to comment on, make it yourself. It is sooo much more fun to be able to take credit for cute things. Heehee.
So if you want to make your own turkey bow for your little lady (or, hey, yourself!) to wear to wow the crowd at Thanksgiving dinner then you should head on over to The Ribbon Retreat’s blog and check out this tutorial by guest blogger Emily from Bowtique by Emily. It is guaranteed to make a splash!
