I am committed to Spreading the Joy this holiday season through the baking and sharing of cookies. I know it’s such a small thing, but it brings joy to those I share them with.

We spread the joy by always trying to give to those less fortunate than we are. We might not have much, but we have it a lot better than others.

A few years ago, my sister and I made goody bags for the residents of a nursing home. It was so rewarding and appreciated. It was rather expensive, so we only did it once, but I’d like to do it again.

I spread the joy by smiling as much as I can, even on bad days, whenever I’m out and about. It’s amazing how often people who seem to be “grumpy gusses” smile back!

I am Spreading the Joy by volunteering to feed firefighters who are in our area trying to save our homes and beautiful mountains (Great Smoky Mountains).

I’ve been creating handmade, mixed media affirmation/greeting cards and sending them to random people anonymously. Hoping that this will brighten someone’s day and bring a smile to someone’s face, it sure makes my heart feel good to pop them in the mail!

We do shoeboxes for children every year. We also are more intentional about just being extra kind each day. I should do this everyday.
