This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Cooking Light, Real Simple, and Sunset Magazines, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #SafewayHoliday http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.
Magazine Gift Guide-2
We have had a nasty stomach bug floating around our family this week, and yesterday it found its way to me.  I was not pleased, to say the least.  Luckily, I had just bought these magazines for this post, so I had something fun to read while I was laying on the couch watching the kids run wild.  Earlier in the week I had stopped at my local Safeway while my son was at preschool to grab the newest editions of Real Simple, Sunset, and Cooking Light.

I started flipping through the pages while I was standing in the aisles, and two gift ideas jumped out at me right away.  The first idea that I got was from the magazine Cooking Light for my foodie husband.
Magazine Gift Guide-5In this issue of Cooking Light there is a section about gifts for the food lover.  And, man oh man, is my husband a food lover!  I spotted some gourmet cheeses and spreads that I am going to have to order for him, and then I wandered the aisles of Safeway looking for exotic foods to add to a gift basket of decadant indulgences for him.
Magazine Gift Guide-4I spotted a lot of great options, but I settled on some sparkling apple-pomegrante juice (we aren’t wine drinkers), two gourmet Lindt chocolate bars, and some European raspberry shortbread cookies.  Yum, yum, YUM!  Once I add the cheeses and spreads I know he will be thrilled to eat and experiment!  I know he will love it, especially with the magazine included.  He loves reading new recipes.
Magazine Gift Guide-3The idea that I got from this wonderful cheery December issue of Real Simple is for my sister.  I am going to give her the magazine to flip through on the airplane ride home, because she will be here for Christmas and never allows herself to slow down and read in her daily life, and then I decided to treat her sweet tooth with the Peppermint Bark Ghiradelli chocolates that I spotted, as well as SALTED CARAMEL Starbucks hot cocoa!  YUMMMMM.  The show-stopping item of the gift, however, will be the “goddess scarf” that I spotted in the gift giving guide in Real Simple.  Simply STUNNING!  (They also have the funniest stocking stuffer ideas in there, by the way.  Totally saw a couple of silly things that my son needs!)

If you also want to make gift giving as simple as browsing a magazine and buying a few things to fill out a gift basket, then I suggest you also head in to Safeway to grab these fun magazines and get inspired!  Look for the tear-away coupon pad by the magazines in select stores to save $1 on your magazine purchase while coupon supplies last.
