Painted Sign

I love Domestically Speaking and all that Maryann designs. As a matter of fact I just featured her Baker’s Twine Apple. Her projects are beautiful, simple, inexpensive and just wonderful. Here is another example. Maryann found a cabinet door for 75 cents, added some paint and painted the word FAMILY to create a great addition to her decor. Maryann transfers the letters to the paint door by tracing the letters into the wood but you could also use graphite transfer paper. She also sands down the door before painting but if you use chalk paint no sanding is required. If you look back at our posts on August 10, 2012 I posted how to make your own chalk paint.
