Cheering on the Broncos in 1987 with my sister and my mom. And yes, I do have the chicken pox.
As you all know, it is Super Bowl Sunday! I am a Colorado girl through and through. My parents were born and raised here, met and fell in love in high school, and as soon as they were done with schooling they came right back here to stay. Techinically the first three months of my month were spent in Boston while they finished school, but I consider myself a Colorado native through and through. However, I don’t care about sports. A bit. I don’t follow our teams or even really care if I win. Try not to throw things at me, Colorado peeps. It’s just not my thing.
BUT…… it’s Super Bowl Sunday, and our Denver Broncos are in the game! Even I can get excited about that! Well….enough to say “GO BRONCOS!” and watch the Super Bowl for the commercials and Super Bowl party food. 😉
My father, unlike me, is a fan. He’s not a rabid fan, but he is a lifelong fan nonetheless. I think that is evidenced by his orange polyester pants. My grandpa used to golf in those bad boys, and then they became my dad’s game day pants. In fact, he wore them often during the Broncos’ John Elway heyday in the 1980s. Here he is with my mom and sis at a church party in 1987.
Those are some pretty sweet glasses, Dad. Pretty sweet.
Here he is this past Friday, wearing the same ensemble to work at his law firm. Oh, and he wore it again today on the airplane to California to visit my sister and her new baby. Hahaha. I love that guy.
Lest you think my Broncos-loving father taught me nothing, here is a home video to prove that theory wrong. You see, the 7 year old me was very knowledgeable about the Broncos….especially the skills needed by an excellent quarterback. Heehee.
Very knowledgable indeed….which probably explains why my mom cut off my excellent lecture. 😉
So, in a nutshell: GO BRONCOS!!! (Bring on the food….)
“Could you get a close-up of this, please?” Hahaha. Classic. And I love your fake English accent at one point.
What a hoot!
