* This tea party was sponsored by World Market. All planning and excitement is 100% my own, and all adorableness is 100% the baby girls’.
Ok, are you DYING from the cuteness already??? I am!! ACK!! They are SOOO STINKING CUTE!! So, on Sunday all over America people were “Doing the Downton” with World Market. Don’t believe me? Go to Twitter, IG, or FB and type in the hashtag #DoTheDownton and see what happens. Pinkies up, people! As for this house, we did the Downton baby style. We aren’t tea drinkers, so I decided to throw a baby “tea party” with juice, Walker’s Shortbread Scottie Dogs, and pretty pretty Downton Abbey inspired products. I heart World Market. Truly. Now let’s check out some more adorableness, shall we?
My daughter has always been a bit of a diva princess. She is beautiful, petite, and she knows how to get what she wants. She can’t help it, she’s just that irresistible. And ornery. 😉 My husband and I have always called her “Lady” in a silly singsong voice. (I’m actually astonishingly annoying around babies—-just be glad you can’t hear the very loud and very high pitched “HI LADY!!!” song that I send her way several times a day. Seriously. Be grateful.) Well, when my little lady was born her Uncle Sam was serving in Afghanistan, so I would send him care packages and emails full of pictures of the kids. He fell madly in love with little princess Jade, which I must admit I never would have anticipated, and he began referring to her as “Her Ladyship.” Then I sent him this picture, which only heightened the obsession.
Her Ladyship indeed. (Her headband tutorial can be found HERE, by the way.) And hence forth she was known as “Her Ladyship” and “Lady Jade.” And what, I ask you, is more appropriate than Lady Jade inviting her friends over for a dainty tea party? Not much.
I am very blessed to have super fun and super accommodating friends. So much so that they brought their tiny wooden chairs to make the pictures prettier and let me dictate their daughters’ outfits . . . once again for my pictures. I have problems. Oh, and speaking of my unique brand of crazy . . . the night before the tea party it occurred to me at 2:00 am that I should have made them all HATS!!! I mean, COME ON! You can’t throw a Downton Abbey themed party without HATS!!! So, what do you think I did? Did I go to sleep and get up and calmly dress my baby girl and face the fact that I had thought of the idea too late and it was no big deal? Or did I lie in bed thinking and thinking of how I could make it work and then get up early to cut up a t-shirt to SEW hats and decorate them? Well . . . here’s your answer:
Problems, people. Serious personal problems. 😉 Check out the tutorial HERE! You will be surprised how simple it was! Now, let’s get down to business: the PARTY!
I started by setting up the table, using a kid art table, my mother’s lace tablecloth, a variety of tiny wooden chairs, and some of the World Market products, including the limited edition mugs and a pretty white teapot. Isn’t it sweet? (The Downton Abbey teapot was sold out in my store on Black Friday. THAT is how pretty it is! This little cutie sure is a great consolation prize, though!)
For refreshments I used juice, Walker’s Shortbread Scottie Dogs, and a batch of delicious scones, which were from a JUST ADD WATER mix that I found at World Market! How cool is that?!? They were seriously yummy as well. My friends were gaga. I tried the white chocolate raspberry mix, but there were loads of varieties. You’d better believe I’ll be going back for more!
I knew the ladies would inevitably spill juice all over the carefully coordinated outfits, you know, since they are all under the age of two (!!), so we took a few group shots prior to beginning. I must say, I am pleasantly surprised that no one was screaming, thrashing about, or sobbing in any of the pictures! 🙂
Are you DYING from the cuteness????? It is KILLING ME! Especially Lady Jade in her little houndstooth dress pretending to be oh-so-sweet-and-innocent. She is just too precious for words.
Now it’s the moment you have been waiting for: PARTY TIME!! Wooooohooooo! It’s about to get cray cray up in here. Or, you know, dainty and irresistible. One of the two. Here comes the picture flood of cuteness. Brace yourself.
(This one is my favorite. Swoon!)
I need them. I need ALL of them. I am going to squeeze them until I can’t squeeze them any more! And then I am going to kiss them from head to toe!! Wow….well, you are now getting to know the real Sarah. Sometimes babies are afraid of my enthusiastic love for them. True story. 🙂
Well, what do you think? Aren’t they the cutest things EVER?! I was so surprised by how quickly this all came together, and it was an amazing photo opp. All of us mamas were snapping away like crazy, that’s for sure! If you throw your own baby tea party be sure to send me a pic! I would love to be able to try to squeeze your babies through the computer! 😉
