A Floating Ghost……

Pinterest has really screwed up my internal clock.  I mean, I’ve been drooling over the Halloween crafts and party ideas that people have been posting since JULY!  STOP IT, PEOPLE!  STOP TEASING ME!!  You see, I love Halloween.  ADORE it, actually.  I’m always tempted to say it is my favorite holiday, but that seems like blasphemy because Christmas is so magical and an entire month of joy and goodness, so I always end up calling them a tie.  But I do love me some Halloween decorations!  I love smiling witches, pumpkins galore, and everything covered in orange and black.  LOVE.  I tried to fight against the teasing Halloween vibe on Pinterest until the temperature was no longer in the high nineties.  I even promised myself that I wouldn’t post about Haloween until September.  Well, it’s September 4th, and I’m throwing in the towel.  Bring on Halloween!!  It may still feel like summer many days here in Colorado, but I am ready for fall!  I bought some Halloween fabric for a skirt for my little lady last week, and I am excited to share party and decoration ideas galore here.  (Fair warning: for some reason I have a Halloween wreath fetish this year.  Prepare yourself.)  Now I just need to stop Pinning and start creating!

Let’s start with a Halloween classic: the floating cheesecloth ghost.  This craft reminds me of something my mom would have made with her girls, and that always makes me smile.  Check out this simple and spooky tutorial over at Everyday is a Crafting Day.  I think my son and I will make some of these ghosts in a variety of sizes to represent our family for our mantle during our next family night.  Cutest!  Or should I say “Spookiest!”

Find the tutorial here.  Spooky crafting!
