*My family and I received admission to this local Colorado Halloween event in exchange for this review. All opinions and fun times had are 100% our own!
Today I am excited to share with you pictures from our family outing last week to The Butterfly Pavilion’s Bug-a-Boo Halloween Event in Denver, Colorado. I am a Colorado native, and yet I had never been to The Butterfly Pavilion! It was such a neat place! My kids were totally into the bugs, and I thought it was pretty darn cute that they were dressed in bug-related costumes as well! In case you can’t tell, they are Ant Man and The Wasp from the Avengers (the cartoon and the original comic books). My son loves the cartoon, so he insisted that we be The Avengers for Halloween…..and then picked obscure characters that I couldn’t just BUY the costumes for. Go figure. 😉 I will be sharing the costumes in depth, along with details on how I created them next week. My husband is the comic/cartoon version of Hawkeye, by the way, and I am Black Widow. I tried to dye my hair red, but it didn’t really take.
Alright, back to The Butterfly Pavilion. I think the best way to share the fun of this even with you is in pictures, so prepare for an overload of them, starting……right……NOW!
The fun started outside, where they spotted a GIANT praying mantis. The Wasp was a bit wary of it, however, so she kept her distance. Cutie!
Right as we walked in the door we spotted a stilt walker! Too fun!

My boy got to hold Rosie the tarantula. I thought he would freak out, but he was tickled to have the opportunity! Literally. Her crawling made him giggle. 🙂
Time to check out some sea creatures! They even got to touch them!

Into the actual Butterfly Pavilion we venture! This was my little lady’s favorite part BY FAR! The kids loved watching the butterflies flitting about and getting up close to them. It really was beautiful in there!
This was the best family picture we could get all day. Ay ay ay. Stubborn little Wasp.
All throughout the event there was trick-or-treating stations, which the kids loved, naturally. We ended in the main room where there were all types of events going on. There was a face painter and a caricaturist, but unfortunately the lines were way too long for us to realistically do either of those with our little kids. I hope next year they have more than one artist at each station, because their work was AWESOME! We did, however, pick out pumpkins and decorate them and enjoy the COCKROACH RACES! They kindof creeped out Mom, but my son was loving every minute! They put them onto the track and then the cockroaches run toward the dark area at the end of the track. At least the non-lazy ones do. 😉
Overall, we had a lovely time. It was a fun and unique event, as we look forward to returning and making it one of our Colorado Halloween traditions!

I just made a comment on another one of your posts then saw this and realized you are from Denver. We moved from Westminster (sadly) 11 years ago due to jobs.. We are back a couple times a year to visit family. My kids have “I pet Rosie” stickers that are prbly 13 years old, lol. The Children’s Museum also has great Halloween activities if you haven’t been there for it yet. Thank you for sharing all your great, hard work. Your kids are adorable!
