Hello Bombshell Bling readers!! I’m so excited to be here today for Sarah’s Sleighbell Saturday series!
My name is Bev and I blog over at Flamingo Toes. I loveásharing jewelry tutorials, along with embroidery, sewing and home decor projects! Today I have a super easy and fun Rustic Christmas Tree Necklace for you! This is just perfect for a beginning embroidery project – the stitching is so simple. I promise!
The necklace is framed in this little mini hoop – they are really easy to put together and make such a fun and unique piece of jewelry!
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
- 6 x 6 piece of fabric
- embroidery hoop – at least 4″
- Disappearing Marking Pen
- DMC Embroidery Floss: Red (326), Green (910), Yellow (726), Brown (869)
- Needle
- Mini Hoop Frame – 34mm x 62mm – fromáthis shop
- Glue
Begin by tracing the center piece of the hoop frame with the disappearing ink marker. Place your fabric in the regular embroidery hoop and draw out your tree. You can see that mine is really simple. Just a basic tree in a pot. 🙂
Embroider your tree by stitching a straight stitch trunk with the brown. To form the tree, just stitch straight lines with the green out from the trunk, at a downward angle. Stitch the pot of the tree with red straight stitches. Add little red french knots to the tree, and a yellow french knot at the top of the tree. If you need help with the embroidery stitches, you can check out my Embroidery Tips page.
Follow the instructions to place the design in the mini hoop. The Etsy shop has great step by step instructions for this.
And that’s it! So easy and cute right? This would be such a fun gift too!
Thank you so much for including me in the series Sarah!

Very cute – I might satin stitch the pot though…
