Spring Tissue Paper Kid Craft

Hi! Carisa here, from Messes to Memories. I’m back with another craft that really helps to build fine motor skills for kids! It’s a fun Spring Flower Craft!

Spring Tissue Paper Flower

I love Spring and have been looking for a fun Spring craft to do with Lanae that could double as wall-art. I knew I wanted to incorporate flowers. But that was about it.

Then I remembered that I did this apple tissue paper craft last Fall. I thought it would be fun to do a more detailed tissue paper craft now that Lanae is older.

So I designed a little flower printable that was color-coded so that she could fill it in with tissue paper.

crumpling tissue paper

The craft is very simple. You crumple up squares of tissue paper and then glue it to the page.

placing tissue paper

Adding the color-coded sections made it a little more difficult, but definitely adds to the finished masterpiece! Plus, Lanae got to practice her listening skills…

working with tissue paper

Because there are so many details here, you really have to do this with your child, unless they are super detail oriented. Lanae was really good about putting the right colors in the right spot. However, I helped her fill in the spaces that she missed!

I loved this craft because we were just sitting side by side! She chatted away about the different colors, grass, flowers, rain, etc. It was so nice to just have a fun conversation with her while we worked!!

It works best if you use a heavier paper, like cardstock, especially if you are going to frame it. I’m going to have to remember that for next time!

Don’t forget to enjoy your artwork once you are all done!! I know we will.

This is such a cute idea. It’s looks like your daughter had a lot of fun making it. I love her delightful smile in that last picture! Just wanted to let you know that I’m featuring this at our link party. http://www.thelifeofjenniferdawn.com/2016/05/12-handmade-ideas-for-mom-and-little.html
