Toy Storage Solutions Using Rubbermaid All Access Organizers

Toy Storage is simple with NEW Rubbermaid All Access Organizers!

When I was offered the opportunity to review the all new Rubbermaid All Access Organizers from Home Depot I was pumped.  It wasn’t a matter of if I had a room that needed an organizational overhaul.  It was a matter of how I would possibly pick which room would get the overhaul this time around!  I originally intended to tackle my crafting supplies, but that thought made me want to curl up in a ball and cry myself to sleep, so I will continue to ignore that job for another day.  Yikes.  But my son’s toys were next on the list.  So off to his bedroom I went.

As I have mentioned before, my little family is living with my dad during my husband’s medical residency so that we can save on rent and start paying down those insane student loans.  Oy.  My dad recently had a major remodel done in his kitchen and now I am helping him to redecorate the entire main floor.  (Many, MANY pictures to come!  You won’t believe the before and afters, especially in the kitchen!  Fun!)  Something that you should know about my dad is that he is very……neat.  Yes, that is a nice, mild way of putting it.  He calls himself  “Fussy Man.”  It is kindof a joke, but not really.  He totally IS “Fussy Man.”

Since my mother passed away ten years ago, Fussy Man was living alone for about seven years in this big ole house.  Nothing. Ever. Moved.  Seriously!!  Nothing ever moved!  He had things in their precise spots and returned each day to the same, spotless home.  And then his messiest daughter moved back in.  With her husband and their two year old son.  And a year later she added a baby girl to the home as well.  To say that the state of his home has changed a bit would be an under-exaggeration of extreme proportions.  He would tell you without hesitation that it is worth the mess to have the home filled with love and companionship once again, but the mess…..it makes him nuts.  I can’t blame him, either!  It makes me a little nuts as well!

During the remodel we stuffed all of the toys in the basement and the kids and I moved out and stayed with my grandparents and in-laws for about six weeks.  It was quite the ordeal.  A few weeks ago I mentioned bringing the toys back out and my dad freaked out just a wee bit.  Ok, maybe a bit more than that.  I mean, I agree with him: the house looks and feels amazing toy and clutter free.  But a 1 and 4 year old need their toys!  I started thinking frantically about ways to attractively store or stow away toys where they would still be accessible to my kiddos.  Enter the Rubbermaid All Access Organizers.

I was offered this campaign the very week that my dad told me to donate all of the kids’ toys to charity.  Haha, Dad, very funny!  He wasn’t really serious, but I could tell he would do just about anything to have the toys invade a little bit less of his space.  Well, thanks to redecorating the main floor I got bitten with the bug to go crazy in my own decorating style.  I had to stay subtle and fairly masculine on the main floor because this is his home, not mine, but he said I could go nuts in the kids’ rooms.  I am very excited about everything I have been working on and can’t wait for it all to come together so that I can share it with you!  Let’s just say you can expect COLOR!  You can see a sneak peek of the wild striped wall in Callum’s Dr. Seuss room in these pictures.  I big puffy heart LOVE it!

Alright, now I am FOCUSING!  On to the fabulous Rubbermaid All Access Organizers.  Seriously, they are fabulous, people!  I am not just saying that!  When we went to pick them up in Home Depot both of the kids were thrilled to be able to open and close the clear, hinged doors on the front of the bins.  I could tell they were going to be perfect, so I bought four instead of the two that I was asked to buy.  I was thrilled with such a fun color of bin that would fit right in with a Dr. Seuss room of insanity and joy.  Since the front “door” of these bins is clear you can see what is stored inside, be it clothes, toys, fabric, cleaning supplies, or anything else you can dream up!  They came in two handy sizes and they stack so nicely together.  I really love that I can open them from the top or the “front.”  So stinking handy!  No more unstacking four bins just to try to get into the bottom bin!  Just drop open that cute little clear door instead!  Woohoo, right?!

I decided to make the bins a bit cuter by adding some vinyl to them with my Cricut vinyl cutting machine.  I love how personalizing them was quick and simple and it made them more cutesy, which made me happy, as well as clearly labeled, allowing Callum to be more independent in cleaning up and being confident that his toys are being put away correctly, which makes everyone happy!  Let’s see some pics!
Rubbermaid All Access Organizers-1 This was our system before I brought home the Rubbermaid All Access Organizers.  Fabric bins that were not vibrant colors, and which were collapsing and falling apart from wear and tear.  They were fine at one point, but they just weren’t working any more.  And this is the cleaned up version of our “before.”  Usually many, MANY more cars were spilled out onto the ground!
Toy Storage is simple with NEW Rubbermaid All Access Organizers! Time to get organized!  It took a grand total of about five minutes.  Gotta love that!
Toy Storage is simple with NEW Rubbermaid All Access Organizers! Ta-Da!  Don’t they look great?!  I think so!  Let’s take a closer peek….
Toy Storage is simple with NEW Rubbermaid All Access Organizers! Hi, Thomas! Toy Storage is simple with NEW Rubbermaid All Access Organizers! Toy Storage is simple with NEW Rubbermaid All Access Organizers! Toy Storage is simple with NEW Rubbermaid All Access Organizers! Even the tops look fab.  If you think your kiddos would enjoy the Rubbermaid All Access Organizers then hurry to Home Depot to grab them!  They come in two different sizes and multiple colors!  A non-blogging friend of mine actually posted in a Facebook group that I am in recently how thrilled she was to spot these in Home Depot and how she planned to use them in her three boys’ closets.  She was pretty excited for me when I chimed in that I got to do a post reviewing and using them!  I love it when my worlds collide!

So what are you waiting for?!  Go get organizing!

Wow! These organizers are perfect for toy storage! The clear way that you’ve labeled them is both attractive and functional. I’m a teacher and can think of so many ways that I could use these in my classroom. I could also use a few in my craft room at home!

OMGosh! I love the idea of using the vinyl cut-outs to label the toys so even the little ones know what goes where! Cute! 🙂

They don’t pull out. The hinge open, like a flap. (The top opens.) They are awesome!

Hi! I just had a quick question… How durable are the clear doors on the front? I love this idea but I need something that is going to withstand a daycare full of kids! Thanks!!!

I cut them with my Cricut vinyl cutting machine. If you don’t have access to a Cricut or Silhouette machine, I am sure there are people on Etsy selling similar things.
