Hello, dear readers! I am feeling overwhelmed with gratitude for your support over the last six months since we started this blog. Slowly but surely it is growing, and it has brought so much joy into my life to be crafting again and sharing my creations, especially when worn by my beautiful children.
I am also thrilled with how the Beat the Winter Blues Giveaway is going, and I am super excited to share more exciting giveaways and projects with you in the upcoming weeks. Sadly, my photos will no longer open, which means that our hard drive is probably on its way out, so I won’t be able to post any new tutorials until we fork over the dough to get that fixed. (Which will have to be soon, because I can’t function well without my computer working correctly!) I still have all of my photos on my camera, thank goodness, but I am trying not to think too hard about the HOURS of editing that I have put into my personal and tutorial photos since October when I last backed up my photos. Ay ay ay. The hours, oh, the HOURS. Shake it off, Sarah—SHAKE IT OFF!!
Anyway . . . on to today’s post. I was actually quite surprised by the results I found when looking at which posts had generated the most traffic this year. You guys really liked my Halloween roundups! (Thank goodness, because they took forever. I loved them too and plan to refer back to them in future years.) I decided to look exclusively at which original tutorials of mine were the most popular posts this year. Chris and Courtney also had some popular tutorials, but these are the top twelve of my own work for the year. They are my top tutorials listed below from least popular to most popular. I am glad to see that you guys are also holiday fans like myself!
12. Flowers & Feathers Headbands – I love these. I got soooo many compliments on the one that my girl wore all October. The feathers make such a great base for large flower “arrangements,” because they can be gently bent and broken so the “arrangements” will mold more naturally to baby’s head.
11. Quick & Spooky Die Cut T-Shirts – These t-shirts are so quick and fun to make. I made three for my son, two for my nephew, and one for a friend’s son. I may have gone a bit overboard. But thanks to my Cricut Expression and Heat n Bond these are the simplest t-shirts ever to customize for your little person!
10. Baker’s Twine Wreath Ornament Tutorial – Grab some shower rings, baker’s twine, resins, and a glue gun. Viola! Now you have yourself a cute little Christmas ornament! There are so many ways to personalize these ornaments, and I got a great response from everyone that I gave them to for Christmas this year.
9. How to Make a Skinny Tie for Your Tiny Hipster – This is a newer tutorial, and I am so glad that it has generated enough attention already to have made the list. I love, love, love these skinny ties and have made several for my little rascal. This is a tutorial that is applicable all year around.
8. Grinchy Ruffle Dress & Headband – I adore the way that this outfit turned out! I made it as a guest blogger for The Ribbon Retreat, and my princess caused a splash in it all over town during the holiday season.
7. Elegant Felt Poinsettia Tutorial – I adore this Christmas beauty. It was a perfect match for my drama queen’s Christmas gown.
6. Heirloom Pumpkin Bread – My mama’s recipe. It speaks for itself.
5. Christmas Countdown Service Chain – This is a holiday tradition that my mom did with us growing up. It was wonderful to pass it on to my son and share the true spirit of the holiday season with him.
4. Chocolate Dipped Banana Ghosts – These were so much fun to make with my boy. He has never been so excited about eating bananas before, that’s for sure!
3. Quick & Easy Mod Podge Pumpkin Face Blocks – I love these cute, festive blocks and look forward to setting them out for years to come. My son and my nephew also had a ball stacking and playing with them when I wasn’t looking. I was so thrilled and honored when they were featured on Mod Podge Rocks!
2. The Halloween Goblin – This is another fun tradition that my mom did with us. Drop and run to two families in your neighborhood and watch as the goblins multiply all throughout the neighborhood!
1. Halloween Firecracker Hairbows – MY VERY FIRST TUTORIAL! I can’t believe that my very first tutorial ever is the most viewed tutorial on our blog! Woohoo! I guess it all went downhill from there, huh? This is also my only tutorial to ever be featured on Craft Gawker. And how about that little model of mine?! She is to die for.
Happy New Year, everyone! I am excited about all of the tutorials that I have planned for you in 2013! Thanks for sticking with me!
