*The items used to create this photo shoot were sent to me free of charge from Oriental Trading Company for review. All ideas and opinions are 100% my own.
Ok, come now, are my kids the cutest or what?! Even refusing to look at the camera and wearing Christmas socks and no shoes (didn’t notice that until just this second…..rascal!) they are still way too darling. The Lady Jade was in an outrageously divalicious mood today, so I thought there was about a 0.2% chance of her participating in this photo shoot yesterday after church, but then she heard the jingle bells and I lured her in front of the backdrop by shaking them in her face as I walked toward the spot where I needed her. Miraculously, it worked, and Mama got the New Years Eve photo shoot that I was trying to create! Halle-freaking-lujah! And then she freaked out again and I put her in her room for a nap. Such is life. At least life around here!
This photo shoot came together incredibly quickly. First of all, isn’t that backdrop from Oriental Trading Company just stunning?! Jade was even more interested in it than she was in the bells! “Ooooohhhhhhh……pweeeety!!” I’m totally using that bad boy more in the future, so keep an eye out for it!
Other than taping the photo backdrop to the wall, all that I had to do was create some jingle bell shakers. Get ready, peeps, because this tutorial is so simple that it’s almost ridiculous to type it up!
To make these shakers I used the following items:
* Jumbo Jingle Bells
* Yellow Ribbon
I began by cutting a 15 inch ribbon strip for each shaker. I tied it in a loop (knot it firmly) for little hands to easily grab. Next I cut three strands of ribbon per shaker, all ranging in length from 8-16 inches.
Firmly knot the jingle bells onto one end of the ribbon, and then firmly knot the ribbon onto the loop you made for holding. Double knot them. Trust me on this one. They will be getting some very enthusiastic shaking!
That’s it.
Seriously.
Now let your little people shake like mad!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
