Welcome to another week of S’mores Saturdays! S’mores are one of my favorite things about summer, so this series has been so much fun to do the last two summers! Last year I came up with most of the recipes myself, but this summer I was afraid I would run out of ideas, so I recruited help from some of my ah-MAZE-ing blogging buddies! I can’t wait to share another summer full of delicious recipes for you! My favorite thing about having lots of guest posters is that you will get all sorts of recipes that I would never think to try. Case in point: today’s S’mores Iced Coffee recipe! I am not a coffee drinker, so if I wanted a cold s’mores treat I would probably choose a s’mores shake, but I know that this world is full of coffee ADDICTS who will think this recipe is the bomb dot com. So if your coffee addiction rivals that of my girl Lorelai Gilmore then this recipe is for YOU! You can thank Kim later, after you drink about 15 of them and are all hyped up. 😉 Heehee. Now let’s turn the time over to Kimberly from A Night Owl Blog! She is the BEST. Seriously.
Hi Bombshell Bling readers! Kimberly from A Night Owl here! I am so excited to be hanging out with y’all today to share a couple of my favorite obsessions – coffee and s’mores! One of the things I just love about Sarah is her love of s’mores. I’m right there with her! But I have to say coffee is probably my number one, so when I was thinking of a fun new s’mores recipe I could share with you today – of course. S’mores Iced Coffee!
Yes, you heard me right! I somehow incorporated all the fabulous tastes of a s’more – chocolate, marshmallows AND graham crackers! How did I manage that?
Simple. I started with a good cold brew. I love to cold brew my coffee during the summer, which means soaking your grounds in water overnight and using fine mesh or cheesecloth to separate out the grounds. I then added chocolate. Chocolate milk to be exact! I like a lot of milk in my coffee (are you the same?) but this time around I switched it up with chocolate milk. Mmm…so good even on its own! But there was more.
Marshmallow whipped cream. Yes, it’s a thing, and it’s easy! I simply whipped some heavy cream in my mixer until soft peaks formed. I mixed in about a tablespoon of powdered sugar and mixed again until stiff peaks formed. I then simply folded in marshmallow bits, which are hard to see here, but were certainly THERE and tasty! You could also fold in mini marshmallows too, either works!
And last up, the graham crackers! I simply crushed up some yummy graham crackers (thankfully my kids weren’t there to see it) and sprinkled on top. Voila! S’mores Iced Coffee. Now it’s a thing. And let me tell you it was DELISH! I did the Starbucks frappuccino thing and mixed the whipped cream IN the coffee and slurped it up. Oh my, so good! I definitely think I’ll make this again. What about you – you wanna try one? Do it! Let me know what you think!
